« on: April 24, 2011, 04:08:24 pm »

Hi every one,
                  I need some help????
I have just got a "ARTR Mini Cat made by Dargon"http://www.jperkinsdistribution.co.uk/detail.php?JPNO=5502425&activepage=1&Navmain=Marine&subcatname=RTR Dragon Boats.
Boat Spec: length 820mm
                width  240mm
            rtr weight 2400g

               ESC 2X 70A
               motors 2x B2848 2636kv
               props 2x 32m 3 blade
               batt 2x 3s1p,4000,20c.

The problem i am having is getting the boat set up right so she will get up out of the water and go instead of just running road like a limp biscuit.lol.????????????

Thankyou  Daz

Hey daz i have the sister hull to this 1,the saga
Double check your motors and measure how long they are,on the link its states 2 different setups.
Also if you are running the 32mm props there no good they just cavitate badly, you want the 36mm,3 blades
You need to set the angle of the drives aswell, ignor the marks on the stingers there way out
Check your motors 1st then i can help from there, but dont expect the hardware and motors to last long
You need to add some flex savers aswell, the couplers are known for coming loose if this happens you'll lose the prop, flexi, dog drive etc

Hi F1 madness.
ya i have seen the videos of your saga.
mine is not as fast as that at all.

Motor size 28mm dia 58mm length..
props are 32mm 3 blade thats what came with the boat.
where would i get some props and flex savers from??

Thank you very much for the help.

there the same motors then,i thought they would be
For flex savers i use the collars that are used to hold the aircraft wheels on with 3.2 id hole place these between the stuffing tube and motor couplers.
you can get them from jperkins or a jp dealer, they are listed on the spares section,or you can get the venom king of shaves alloy props
The venom king of shaves C1 and the mini dragon and sag are all the same hulls and hardware just different electronics
Hope this helps :-))

You can also use small zip ties as shaft savers just pull em tight and snip off the exess, cheap but do the job fine.
