Steamboat Phil
« on: May 06, 2011, 10:42:05 am »

Anybody know where Steamboat Phil Abbott is at the moment? I need to get into contact with him about an upcoming article on Straight Running in the modelling press we are supposed to be working on and he isn't responding to either his official MPBA SR Rep email address or to PM on here.

Thanks,

Colin

Phil was approached by the Editor and he does have all the historical material with photos going back to the 1920s. The article is intended to chart the history of SR and promote this long standing branch of the hobby.

Colin I notice he hasn't been on the forum since 28th April so I would assume he is away

Geoff, he actually popped up last week briefly. He does work abroad a lot so hopefully he will resurface soon!

Flushed him out at last! Apparently Victoria club are waterless at the moment which is affecting the usual programme of events. If anyone knows where I might get some good SR pics within striking distance of Surrey in the next or month or so please let me know. (apart from the demo at Wicksteed)

Colin,

According to the Meeting Calendar on the MPBA website, there are meetings at St Albans on the 15th May and Blackheath on the 22nd. Don't know if this helps!

Yes I did get a reply. Blackheath seems to be doubtful at the moment but I might try St Albans if I can face a trip around half the M25!
