There have been a number of rumours circulating about our show, including that we are not proceeding with our event this year, or that we have moved back to Birchwood. Please note that NONE OF THESE ARE TRUE. There has also been a regretable instance of someone organising their attendance contacting the wrong people and getting themselves missdirected and confused.
I can confirm that we are holding the Model Boat Convention at Haydock Park Racecourse on 27th & 28th August as previously advised.
Please note with this regard we are not and have never been called the Birchwood Model Boat Show. That is a name used by another organisation that has been holding a show in Birchwood on the same dates. This show is not linked with or associated with ours. I understand this show will still be taking place on the same dates at the sports centre in Birchwood.
We have always been The Model Boat Convention, both when at our original venue at the Ellsmere Port Boat Museum and more recently at The Centre, Birchwood Park (i.e. the large café with the adjacent pool used during the show for sailing). And, of course, we are stiil very proud of our motto that we are ‘The show for modellers by organised by modellers’. For any further information please see my earlier post on this forum
