Another useful tool
« on: May 09, 2011, 02:51:20 am »

My son has come up with another little program that is useful – and fun.
This one works on mobile phones. You measure out a set distance at the pond, Use the phone app to time your boat traveling it and it will give you a scale speed in mph, kmh or knots.
Works on any mobile phone using android. You can download it for free from:

https://market.android.com/search?q=scale+mate&so=1&c=apps

If you're not sure how to install it, ask a teenager.
His other program is a simple calculator that converts 1:1 measurements into any scale in imperial or metric. Works on PC or mac. You can get a free copy from:

Found another "App" for them today, if yer boat runs out of juice on the pond, get some thin kite string, fasten securly to the phone and you can throw it over the wayward boat and drag it back to shore.  :-))
