I have decided to go with a system derived from the Darnell steam engine/air bag design, with the addition of fore and aft trim tanks, in the form of 4oz aircraft fuel tanks driven via a reversable water pump. This follows an interesting period of testing all sorts of pumps, the last being a Made In England for Pirelli, single direction air pump for lumbar support work in a specialised medical chair ( dismantled by a fellow modeller, the air bags are SWEET!) , this was very effective right up to the point that the internal washers disintegrated, rendering the pump unservicable!
I dont think polishing the pump improves its performance, however it LOOKS like it will be effective
Thanks to Subculture and others who responded to my enquiries, I feel a bit of a git for blowing all suggestions out of the water and going with the above design, however I have a giant Alfa lurking at home that pretty much cries out for one of the previously discussed systems.. when I get time to build it!
