Paddle drive?

I've been looking at Heng Long tanks. It occurs that when people retrofit metal gearboxes, there must be plastic ones going spare. Would one of these make a suitable independent paddle wheel drive? (Admiralty dockyard tugs only please - must remember the H and S)

May i refer you to the Paddleducks excellent website.All Paddlers dealt with both model and fullsize.Theres a
good section on motors and making paddlewheels. I have a Henlong Tiger and see no reason while the
motor units could not be adapted.But as said there are other ways possibly better. John.

Yep. Has had most upgrades metal tracks better motor/ gearboxs. suspension etc. good value, Henlong are
improving all the time. John.

I just purchased a tamiya gearbox drive unit from the dreaded e bay the cost with delivery was less than twenty dollars the output shafts are independent  I plan on using the drive unit in  the Lulonga which should be my next project
