hi all, names jerry, 61, semi retired tug skipper, retired R.N.R officer (list one)MCMVs and "Old Worcester".
i made model a/c as a lad at primary school, rubber powered keilkraft and frog and a few towline gliders. then messed about with E.D. bee and hornet motors in the vice. made a control line plane for the bee and scratch built a hydroplane (tethered) for the hornet. learned that planes crash and hydroplanes make pretty colours on the paddling pool and park keeper can be nasty and don't understand kids. so didn't do it after that.
wait 50 years, get t'interweb, spot a model kit of a tug i'd driven and model making returned. bought graupners parat and built it.
while on a visit to daughter in oz started looking into radio kit. wow, that's come on a bit eh! but nobody i talked to knew anything about voithes. but one guy told me about MBM and told me some guys meet every sunday on a lake in llanberis, "just ask for stavros!"
well it's only next door. found a nice bunch of peeps all very welcoming and helpful.next winter i built aziz and last winter restored old family "golden hind".
next winter got to restore copy of science museums "elizabeth jonas". bit of a challenge that one. have also got tito neri and mcs marlene in my discharge book so things may get expensive in future. so enough from me, probably won't post much cos i'm a reader and listener mostly but would like to thank all the contributors whose postings have proved very helpful to me in the past.
i,ll try and put some pics on but resizing seems to have spoiled them but i have two blogs with better pics if anyone's interested.

Thanks for the invite Ixion. Off to Cardiff to watch Baabaas v Wales tomorrow. Not expecting to be fit for travel Sunday plus getting over throat surgery so can't talk much. Had to give up smoking too so not good company either. Should be ok next Sunday though. You any connection AH? Sailed in Ixion near her end. HP turbine was blanked off I seem to recall.
