Hi to all again,
can anyone put me in the right place for plans, or information on the yacht, bottle boat? (two pop bottles and a plastic bag for the sails)...cheers..Ken..

Yes Ken, first buy me two large bottles of Ginger beer, one meter length of bamboo, one tesco carrier bag and two ballls ( Oops, am I allowed to say that????) of string and a £5 note . Wrap the lot up in a £20 iou and bring it up the workshop as soon as poss: bigH

The Stollery ones look a bit too professional to me - I'm sure I remember seeing an article somewhere about a competition for boats made from rubbish which involved bottles - but can't remember if it was by Gavin Atkin or Glynn Guest (or neither - apologies to the author whoever it was).

Just thought you would like to see the bottle yacht built by our nonagenarian Senior Member and sailed for the first time at Edinburgh Model Boat Club today. It went very well and and showed a fair turn of speed. It was also able to turn on a sixpence - or the modern equivalent. This is the first bottle boat we have seen (if you discount my bow-thruster propelled Tesco milk bottle) and I'm sure it will start a trend. The yacht was built from spare bits lying around the builder's workshop.
