Scale steering chain in 1/24
« on: March 02, 2007, 04:55:38 pm »

Hello,

Can anyone recommend a supplier of scale chain suitable to use as steering chain on a 1/24 TID tug? What size links do I need to get the scale right.

Thanks
Clive

Guys...an old thread from 2007.....but I did research it  %) ..I have also near exhausted most links that I can think of

I am after approx. 2 meters of scale open link model chain......not studded link, but must be fusion welded links
Looking at say 5 links per [25 mm] [inch]...the link size will determine the wire gauge
Could be steel or brass....but must be fusion welded link joints
Naturally this is destined for chain steerage on a 1:24 OZ paddler & cannot afford the chain links to fail...I have up scaled the links per inch to build in a better factor of safety
Any help greatly appreciated........Derek

Check jewelry suppliers on Ebay. Very cheap, most sizes and can be gold(brass ?) "silver" or black.  Search for Dordali`s Wonderful Things where I got interesting bits and pieces that can be used in modelling.  No connection to this firm.
