Nice.

I got some good photos, I'll post some here but most of them will be on smugmug...a link to follow.

It was a terrific Dive-In, my forst in fact and I went for information!!  It rained all day on Sunday but I learned tons about model subs and also about the chapos that build and run them: what a very nice bunch of loonies you all are!  I felt quite at home standing in the rain looking down at a sunken model boat!  Seriously, thank you for making me and my boys so welcome.  I hope its the first of many Dive-Ins I get to and the last I get to without a boat!

Well weather wise it was most certainly a weekend of contrasts, a lovely warm and sunny day on the Saturday, and a rather cool wet day on the second! All the same we managed to get plenty of sailing time in on both days, and everyone still seemed to be smiling. Many thanks to all those who turned up- it's those that attend that make the event what it is.

Here are some lovely photos taken by Peter Tatton, who was one of the scuba divers swimming around on the Saturday.

Many thanks to all, I had a really enjoyable (if wet) Sunday at St Albans.  Over twenty submarines all in one place, a treasure trove of insight and information for a budding submariner like me.  A special thank you for letting me ask loads of questions, and seeing how the insides work, many different diving systems and varied solutions to achieving such realistic operation.  I am duly inspired and looking forward to making progress on my K Class build.

You have to see subs in action to appreciate this 'black art' of model making.  If I can get mine to be as well behaved as this I will be well happy, although achieving that is the nature of this unique challenge.

Being reminded that "submarines don't sink, they submerge!" kinda sums its all up.  Keep that long pole handy, I may need it for Dive In next year.

It was good to be able to put faces to names and nice to see that there are a good few people getting into submarines - lots of new model sub will be going on patrol soon. Over 50 subs over the 2 days  :-))
Here are some more pictures.

Yes the 808 keyfob's offer a noticeable improvement in picture quality over the ATC and Flycamone cameras, and that's an SD model. Nice films and pictures chaps, keep them coming!

Should hopefully have some more pictures in a couple of weeks from the other scuba diver.

Looks wet on the Sunday, are submariners as waterproof as their models?
Very nice interpretation of the Thunder Tiger Submarine and nice to see a Seaview. Hope to have a sub working for next years event, can you order the rain for me?  :-)

Yep, a little wet on the Sunday, but there was plenty of shleter from where you could run your boat in the dry whilst sipping on a pint! At the Brockwell Lido site there is a pool side cafe where you can retreat to and still see and control the submarines  :-)) Alan Seaview had a few problems but should be fully operational soon.

It's a cafe and a half at Brockwell- more like a restaurant really.

We did get a bit of a hosing on the Sunday, but I put up a gazebo next to the deep end of the pool, and there were some other areas where people sheltered from the incessant precipitation.

Alan spent the entire weekend trying to secret a rather nice diaphragm based air pump I brought along to show him!  :}
