« on: June 12, 2011, 08:46:10 pm »

Hi there all, can anyone help my friend to identify the real boat this ones based on and any details of the kit? He thinks it's a pilot boat from the UK but stands to be corrected, hope someone can shed some light on her, thanks, Dave.  :-))

they make diferent lengths, and a lot are sold as pilot boats.

Not a Pilot Boat with those guardrails
Pilots need a clear deck with a central grab rail so they can step on and off.
The Humber and Halmatic hulls were also used for a wide range of motor
cruisers.

Looking at it again, I think it is someones idea of a cruiser.
The companionway would be for very small people and the
mast seems out of context with the shape of the saloon.
Otherwise quite a tidy model

didn't say it WAS  a pilot boat, ned.......just that the hull looked like a halmatic boat..................they make lots and lots of different boats, cruisers includes

Every Nelson and Humber Halmatic cruiser I have seen has the Saloon roof and windows raised above the foredeck as in your pic.
The model also has nice easy to trip over ventilator cowls on the side decks.
I think it's a generic hull made up to the builder's idea of a cruiser. On the hulls we are discussing there would be no headroom forrard.
