Just thought id share this build, after abit of a disaster iv decided to take this hull back to bare hull and start again.
Iv changed it from twins to single as maintenance was a ball ache to to limited room.
It now houses:
Hor strut and rudder
Upgraded flexi to 3/16
Hor watercooled alloy motor mount
Hor alloy  servo mount
15kg,digital,high speed,brass geared servo
Leopard 4074,2000kv motor & cooling jacket
120 amp esc (200 amp in near future)
45mm & 47mm CF props
42mm,1.7 3 blade stainless prop
2 x 5000mah,7.4,30c Lipos for 4s2p

Hull has been fully reinforced with Carbon fibre, including hatch
new paint scheme

Now for the pics
Before

After

Hope you like and hopefully maiden run tomorrow, weather depending :-))

Very nice looking F1.  Its good to see that you're supporting us "old people" ("Saga") :-)
But wait - someone has substituted your IC engine for a round, red thing .......
Good luck on the maiden tomorrow  :-))

well guys ran today and jee whizz this is fast with still more to come once propped up.
reckon wasnt far 50mph i ran with another 32" cat with gps in and he pulled 40.3mph and i left him behind, but the wind made driving them difficult.
we did get a short vid but not off full run as i forgot my sdcard in my phone and wouldnt let me get a vid :((
but heres a short clip
http://youtu.be/jQg0qxDeRRM ;)
going again tomorrow and gonna install gps and see what it does may even prop up for 1 pass
my only concern is how far off the limits am i with the design of this hull %)

Hey mart hope your right LOL,the problem is the genesis is 5" longer and has a narrower and deeper tunnel so more suited to higher speeds, the saga is short and has a much wider and shallower tunnel making it more likely to flip,as i did yesterday but it was windy.
Going again later today if these batts hurry up and see how it goes, not as windy today and also gonna use mates gps to see what shes putting out, also gonna do 1 pass on 47mm prop and see what the difference is in speed, should be interesting.
will get some better vids aswell and post them  :-))

Look forward to seeing some more vids, have you considerd an air dam under the tunnel? ive even seen silicone used just to disrupt the air a little, maybe some double sided tape and strip of balsa and play with it and see.At least your getting time to play with your boats i havent even got one to play with and i manufacture the bloody things lol  %).Another thing i was going to say is do you klnow of any small skegged struts anywhere as ive not seen any ?,id love to find one to try on my new cat once its ready.

Here we go guys,me and mike got together again today and ran our boats.
We took it in turns running and gps was used each run.

1st up is mikes scratch built cat running:
Leopard 4060,1500,swordfish 120amp ESC,and 6s2p 5000mah,40c batts and 42mm prop.
Temps were cool needs to prop up
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uSWuMG4Ien0

2nd up is the saga gt
Leopard 4074,2000kv,120amp esc,4s2p 5000mah,30c batts and 45mm cf prop
temps of motor and batts were barley warm, but the ESC was quite warm to the touch.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uPVAzEwKOAE

3rd run was saga gt only this time with 47mm prop.
again motor and batts were barely warm but ESC was on the limits.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_kB21NXsCQk

4th run was mikes pursuit.
Running leopard 3674,1900kv on 4s2p 5000mah 40c,t180 esc and 37,3 blade

there is a vid but on mikes phone.

Conclusion for the day, abit dissapointed,i moved the CG forward and was slower than yesterday but more stable and i need bigger esc and some 3 blade props, also gonna get 2 x 3s,5000mah,30c lipos and run 5s2p with smaller prop, also considering off setting the rudder instead of inline.or next option is run higher kv due to ltd room for propping up.
But happy with the results so far and i know ther is still more to ring out of it LOL
will post vid of pursuit run shortly

Hey mart
once i got bigger esc and some more props the saga will defo be quicker, then will step up to 5s and go from there.
The mono runs sweet but again needs more prop to get more out of it.
The temps on all 3 setups were barely warm,my only concern is the 120 esc in the saga, but will sit 42mph all day as it is,but want more LOL

well i ran again today, tried the 4217/3 blade, not bad but cavitates as soon as you turn the rudder, wonder if the needs to be offset or further away from prop.
i did start playing with the set up and moved the prop/strut up a little at a time, but still trying to find the right height before altering anything else.
The only way im gonna get more out of this set is moving up in cells i think, but we'll see
ill let the vids do the talking

Offset rudder is the way to go for all out speed.

just an update
post arrived with 200amp ESC and 2 x 3s lipos etc
Had to order some 5.5mm gold bullets as the wires on the esc are huge,so need to change all connectors on lipo, esc and motor
Should be up and running for weekend i hope on 5s,so will see what she hits on the GPS  :-))
only thing left now is a couple of new stainless props,1 for 4s and 1 for 5s running, but will no which 1s after weekend of testing and more setting up
