Puffer renamed
« on: June 21, 2011, 07:12:28 pm »

Finally decided to change the name on my Caldercraft puffer from Northlight for 2 reasons:-

1. The boats with a name "......light" usually had funnels painted red, white and black and I couldn't be bothered repainting this!
2. The transfers were always visible and looked like they had a greyish background in photos.

I have now used plastic letters and called the boat "Jura"

Some pics below:-

The marks where the transfers were still show slightly on the pics but have now been removed.

... great paint job on the Jura!

Best Name I ever seen on a model boat was  ZIP

I've always thought a good name for a Arab oil tanker would be Titan Daboob.     %)

The film was made on Barra

The SS Politician ran ashore on Eriskay

And a good film it was too, I also liked The Maggie - perhaps that's where my liking for Puffers came from. :-))
