Quick list of names as I think they stand:

Davidsg1a: Donald Macduck
Colin: odd job
Martin: sir Francis
Big bri: leftenant soggybottom (dunno if you really wanted that 1, just scanning through the thread spotting the names)
Chingdevil: yellow submarine
Me: queen quacker
My gf: duckzilla

If any of you were joking and want to change the name let me know and I'll amend the list.

This morning I tried several different glues on the duck, 1st being hot glue gun, it works for sealing around things but doesn't hold anything well, then I tried some humbrol precision glue, which was completely useless (shame cos it's normally really good on the Revell kits), last thing I tried was loctite super glue, which is really good!

So I'd recommend the loctite super glue (but go careful with it, managed to glue my fingers together about 5 times in as many minutes)

Taking the duck for a test run this weekend (provided I can get hold of a battery charger) I'll try and get a video of it's maiden voyage.

Anyone else got any further with their planning? Or are you all keeping it top secret? Lol

When I built my bath duck way back in 1987 (it sounds so grand when you put it like that,eh?) I found the best way to install stuff into what I have christened 'Rubber Duck Plastic' i.e. nothing sticks to the cursed stuff, was to bond a plywood base into the inside  bottom of the duck with silicone sealant and put stainless tapping screws through the bottom of the duck to hold the whole lot in place. I could then bond to the plywood with ease.
My model had a steerable pod hanging under the model with the motor in it. The designers of the Queen Mary 2 later copied my idea, only on a larger scale <*<

Added a name and I've gone for a name change:

Davidsg1a: Donald Macduck
Colin: odd job
Martin: sir Francis
Big bri: leftenant soggybottom (dunno if you really wanted that 1, just scanning through the thread spotting the names)
Chingdevil: yellow submarine
Me: ducks of hazard (if I can fit it in it may be complete with Dixie air horns)
My gf: queen quacker
Timo: Q

Yes twin, triple, quad motors, whatever you want, as long as it's electric.

Well, took the duck out for a trial run yesterday, half decent speed and manouverability (sp?). However did find a couple of small issues, the battery pack got ridiculously hot, too hot to touch, and there seems to be a small leak somewhere but can't find where, nothing major though after an hour on the water there was only a tiny puddle inside

However, it seemed stable enough, so wouldn't have thought a keel is necessary. Have got a short video and will post it soon.

Anyone else got any progress?

Hopefully this link will work, the maiden voyage of queen quacker...

As for propulsion, I've decided to go for a water jet. And my gf's is being kitted out with random bits I've got lying around, think the motor is a speed 500 or something, driving a single prop.

Odd both links work on my phone, 1st link takes me to YouTube site but I think it's the mobile version, 2nd link takes me to YouTube iPhone app.

If neither work for you search rc duck on YouTube, added within the last 7 days.

Anyone found a glue that works properly on these ducks yet?

I tried hot melt glue, it was ok for sealing around the rudder and things but to actually get things to stick it was useless, however loctite multipurpose superglue worked brilliantly, just be sure not to get any on your fingers!

Well it's an extra challenge for you, link your steam engine to a mini dynamo to power an electric motor!
