A bit about my "Canning"
It was going to be "Brocklebank", in Liverpool, 'cos it's handy to visit for pictures etc. BUT I couldn't find any plans, so it has reverted to original and is now "Canning".
I did eventually locate plans for sister ship at the NMM but they were about £100, so I went for the template set from MMM.
The main deck is Ply but I'm doing the rest in plasticard, it's not finally painted yet.
The motor is a MFA with 6:1 reduction, which is a bit noisy, but it will have to stay, for now. I'm putting in 12 vot bat. the rudder servo rods are just under the deck, out of sight, which is nice.
We are off to Swansea to see the original after Easter to get some pictures,There are many about on the internet. Anyone know if it's possible to go aboad?

(The last picture was taken about a month ago, the others today.)

HY Funtimefrankie
Re the Canning, I have been down to Swansea many times to look around the fish quay and the Canning, ( I used to work on a similiar tug years ago) and I have never seen anyone aboard her or in attendance, either in summer or winter, the Museum is right next to her and you might get lucky in asking in there, but I would,nt hold my breath.
Good Luck

A bit more work done now, some more fittings bought at Ellesmere Port show.
Also now the motor has been changed to a larger Buhler from Model Motors Direct, more for quiteness, but Bryan turned his nose up at the MFA 6:1.
Must try a maiden voyage soon.
The black paint is just wafted over for effect.

Just got back from a weekend in Swansea, took lots of pictures. Looks like she's not been touched since yours were taken.

Getting ready for some TLC....

So much for neatly masked waterlines..............

Yes that's on the Southport lake, not too windy today.
It's not finished yet plenty to do on the hull, the superstructure's not far off.
First I took the "springer" down for a test run, but the speed controller seemed to have a mind of it's own so I took it home and lashed up the radio in Canning and tried that instead.
Also the springer leaks, i think it will have to have a bit of fiberglass round the seams.

Latest outing rounding up the ducks. Hoping to get JJC old smokey, but read differing reviews, is there a reliability problem, don't want to spend £50 on something thats iffy.

FTF, not a tug person myself, but I think she's very nice indeed. Well done.
