20" Ailsa Yacht, a "MILBRO" product
« on: July 05, 2011, 08:46:06 pm »

I have just come across an old friend of a friend of mine. Its an AILSA YACHT by Milbro of Scotland.  This old and quite battered pond yacht has just the hull, deck and a few hooks and eyes, a tatty bit of sail with a brass eyelet in it, no mast, bowsprit or sail and the keel is gone, broken off ages ago apparently and just leaving the three screws which held it to the hull (which is aluminium).
I want to restore it.
Can anyone help please?

Yep - it'd be great to see some photos...

Not sure if you're familiar with the Vintage Model Yacht Group website but it's a fantastic resource for info. on old models.

The link to their section on Ailsa yachts is:  http://www.vmyg.org.uk/pages/resources/small_boat/ailsa.htm

Hope this helps  :-))
