Plumgarth, where has she gone
« on: March 05, 2007, 03:53:34 pm »

Hi
My latest project is to try to restore to some of its former glory a model of “Plumgarth”. At about 30 years old and having spent many of the later years in the back of a garden shed it is surprisingly well preserved. The navigation and searchlights, radar scanner and “electronic” air horns all still work (on 12v ). The 5 pin Futaba linear servos I have not been able to try, but the home made electronic Speed control seems fine (at least the motor goes) when hooked up to a servo tester and battery(no BEC at this age)
The damage to the stern (something fell on it) and the paintwork are straightforward to repair and modifications (smoke) are under way BUT, there is no rigging, the original was in shearing elastic and has rotted away completely. I have searched on Google etc. but it would appear this boat has gone. The original livery is, I believe Rays of Liverpool, this ties with the name, and I think at one time there was plans issued in “Model Boats”.
Is there anyone on “mayhem” that can help me obtain some info. or point me in the right direction. All the info I had has disappeared probably in one of the house moves that has taken place in the last 30 years and I would like to do the old girl justice.

 Smokey mod.     tickover                        and                       fullspeed

Thank you in advance
Tom
