I'm 19, first time I've insured anything, and it cost me £449 fully comp with driver insurance etc....

Still, if I went to Compare the market I would have got a Meerkat too {-)
... and they didn't even give me a bloody meerkat!

... GITS!

Paranoia did a good insight into why insurance costs are rising last night, and why they're due to rise even more next year.

I have just seen a thing on the TV where a young lad could not afford to insure a car, he was getting rediculous quotes. He wnet and got himself a 1956 Fordson tractor and uses that, insurance was about £70 a year fully comp. Just think of the damage he can do with a vehicle like that.

In general, like for like, vans cost more to insure than cars, don't know why.

Hi all, just renewed my car insurance on a Micra.  Offered at £217 by Admiral.  Tried the usual compare sites and came up with the AA at £67 cheaper which includes roadside b/d cover for free, usual cost £58.

Quite pleased really but while I was waiting I checked out the value of the car (buymycar.com) on line and it came out at less than the £400 excess!
regards Roy
