J Class Sailing Event
« on: March 14, 2024, 09:43:49 pm »

Hi to you all.
There is a J Class Sailing Event at Whitefriars Sailing Club near Cirencester on the 27th April. I've hosted a couple in Nottingham in the past and they were great fun but its a bit of a trek for some so I'm hoping that the Whitefriars sailing venue will be a bit more convenient.
If you fancy attending then let me know and I will email more detail closer to the time.

Just across the Severn from me, and my office was in Cirencester for a while so I know the way.  :-)

Js are just so AWESOME to watch, so please tell me more nearer the time.

It looks like there will be a good turnout of J's, especially the 48. There should be a number of 60 inch versions, including three models flying genoa foresails (including mine) and also other J boats. I hope to get six J's in the car, three 48's and three 60's, each of bermuda gaff and genoa. I have bigger J's but I think the six is a challenge enough!!

As the event gets closer it looks like I've got positive replies from 30+ boats which include J Boats and also other yachts of interest. Praying for good weather and the long range forecast (sponsored by Michael Fish) predicts high pressure...fingers crossed!!
If anyone is interested in coming then let me know. Access to the Whitefriars Sailing Club is through a gate with a digital code lock so if you want to attend I will need to give you the code.

This could not be better timing for me as I have just won a Nottingham J Class on eBay.

If possible could you send me details as I would like to come down.

Many thanks.

I think that there were lots of people following that listing! Congratulations!
Access to Whitefriars Sailing Club is via a locked gate and I need to pass on the code, not something perhaps I should do on a public forum but I'm not familiar with Mayhem so I'm not sure how to contact you privately. Can you send me an email and I can reply to that.
