School concert...
« on: July 12, 2011, 10:19:24 pm »

I went to my daughters school concert this evening, I wasn't expecting much and I said I'd sit near the exit
so that I could make a quick getaway after she had done her bit.

  BUT WHAT A SHOW!

I was astounded by not only the quality of the talent but also the amount of talented kids in, what is really a very
"average" urban school. One girl sung 'Panis Angelicus' that made my jaw drop, another girl sung a song in the style
of Beork... but better, one girl sang 'Over the rainbow' (Eva Casidy), which is one of my all time favourite songs, she
really was a slip of a girl and I was expecting the worst but this girl belted out the song effortlessly that actually left
me with real tears in my eyes!

School teachers really are unsung heroes in many people lives .....
I bet no matter how old you are, you can still name some without much effort!

Probably the best entertainment I've seen this year! WELL DONE KIDS.   :-))
I found one of the on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZDRmZkD64o0&NR=1

I couldn't take any photos or videos.. looks like the perverts do spoil many peoples lives.  >:-o

I can...very easily....my wife O0 She taught for well over 40 years, the last 31 at the one school.

I can believe what you say about talented youngsters, Martin. When I was coach driving, one of my absolute favourite jobs was taking a local high school choir to the annual school's concert at the Sydney Opera House. Schools from all over NSW had to audition to make the final selection, whether it was singing, dancing or instrumental (bands or soloists) and the talent on show was simple stunning.

Not the perverts Martin, the silly people in charge unfortunately, who lack common sense.

The lad in the video seems very talented but I'm glad he doen't live next door to me  :-)

Re the photo thing, is it perverts/numpties or have the PTA got a DVD on the way? You know you'll buy one  :-))

You could be right Doug, I'll ask the little lady to check with the school!
If they are doing one, I guess they can check the contents and make a few quid too!
