WelshBuilder Springer(ish) Tug Build
« on: July 24, 2011, 06:25:51 pm »

Hi Guys,

Decided to start a blog on my build, its just for fun im no member of boat clubs etc so i have built it to the size design i want it which is 27inch long 14 inch wide.

I do plan to take it on the water but at the moment all the inside parts seem daunting!! Something i having done before, i will use the guts of a rc car cheaper for me and easy to practise on with no way of me messing up with expensive stuff!!

Tomorrow im going to cut the boats sides etc out of 6mm ply and 2-3mm bottom.

Just a word of caution,as a few of us on here have built oversize springers.
What is the electronics,as rc cars racing around are air cooled, driving an enlarged springer has more drag water resistance being one.
No air cooling through the hull etc.
Not trying to put you off,we will help and encourage you,but try to advise, before it becomes expensive,as we've been there O0
Regards

"Stringer"?  will it be a straight copy ? %)  Maybe a typo for Springer ? O0 {-) {-) {-). Watercool your glow engine , a fan wont hack it. Why not stick to a standard size ????

Typing error, I may go narrower on the sides to 10inches. from top of hull to the bottom is same as all tugs on here. reason for the size was to get very good detail on the tug!
