Sad, but even more sad was the fact that as a Lord, he had the power to speak out for what he eventually asked the Leader of the House to raise again...the vote to legalise end of life suffering, and For which he was now wishing for, a 180 degree turn, as he had voted vehemently and campaigned against some 8 years ago.
And sadly, what ever your own beliefs are regarding the subject many have died in degradation and abject suffering since that Lords vote in 2008, because of those votes.
may he rest in peace, as he was a consummate entertainer, and may his dying wishes be thought about more deeply by those who make our laws in this country in future.
