QM2 can do more than 24 knots, 28 I think, but that puts a strain on the Mermaid propulsion pods so they don't go that fast anymore.  Plus it eats up a lot more fuel and requires the use of the jet turbines in addition to the main diesels.

Don't think the engine was running but still, a multi million pound engine chewed up by 25p. it's not a happy picture.

I bet the food on these ships is brilliant - Chinese and Indian crew - I wonder if they were all in the galley cooking takeaways :-)

Hi, perhaps it is me and advancing years (also possibly a lack of money) but the designs very rarely appeal to me.
I like a nice traditional boat, so looking forward to seeing the film Dunkirk and the little boats.

Bruce Forsyth was not so well known here in Australia, although I do remember him hosting Royal Variety concerts on TV. He certainly had a long and distinguished career in British TV, and I'm sure he will be mourned by many.

The wrecks location has been known about for decades ( probably close to 40 years ) as fishermen took their nets on it over the years , its right up on the bank itself ( 100fm ) as if it had been off the top of the bank there is a ledge at 150fm around the west side before it drops off to the abyssal plain at around 3 miles deep !!

Its also the only wreck of that size on the bank ( there are a few smaller ships , well bits of those that hit Rockall itself or went aground on Helens Reef , a small number of fishing boat wrecks on the bank ) so only needs a relatively small ROV to reach her

I've marked in Red the only wreck on the charts that matches the depth they give
