Sad news for lovers of historic sailing ships. The brigantine rigged tall ship 'Zebu' has been declared a wreck after becoming stuck on a breakwater off the Welsh coast at Holyhead.

The RN used to conduct first of class shock trials at Rosyth but they ceased many years ago (although if memory serves, Invincible did undergo such a trial). I don't think they ever got to 40,000 lb of explosive, but it was a pretty loud bang. Probably one of the reasons they were stopped, along with the ever-present issue of £££££. And the fact that ships stopped being built to full military specs, so probably wouldn't stand the shock anyway.

Rather a confusing story! At one point it says this ship blocked the Suez canal and another says it was her sister ship that blocked the canal and this is her maiden voyage.
Oh well! What do I know, we have actual news, fake news and just plain errors, how is a young lad to sort out the truth?
