OK, it wasn't a detailed engineering analysis of how a submarine is designed and built, but I found it interesting to see how the individual segments were fitted out separately then brought together and welded. Also, the sense of so much being crammed into a tiny space was clear, and the overall complexity of the machine was evident. Of course, all the really interesting stuff is classified, so any techie watching is going to feel short changed. And if you're a submariner it's easy to scoff, but as 99.9% of the population aren't, I think it was pitched at the right sort of level. (And I doubt the admiral was as complacent in private about those years' delay!)
