Ajax is certainly the last of the Astute class to date, however, she has yet to laid down - thought the long lead items have been ordered.
HMS Agamemnon was laid down last week though, on the 18th to be precise. So smacked wrists for whoever runs the BAE intranet.

this is an accident that should never have happened with a French TGV.

its design that it would stay on track and cars clinging to each other.
And multiple security would have worked.
Since the TGV runs there were only six wounded

That is Spain.
The train does not have the TGV safety system.

The package is designed as an ordinary train wagon = hooked to a car.
Accident cars overlap.
The TVG is an articulated whole. There were accidents but never the cars broke away, or mounted on top of each other.
However, when two TGV sets are hung up on the second could the first.

The Talgo 250 involved in this accident have two power cars at each end with articulated carriages in between just like the TGV.
Due to the speed the first carriage tipped over and left the rails. It did not ride over the overs, it simply fell over.
For a short time this carriage dragged the coaches behind and the power car in front off the rails before detaching. The rear of the two front power cars then pulled the front power car into the ballast, You can see in the footage how the rear bogie boggs down causing it roll over.
Once the train has left the rails there is nothing to stop the whole thing folding up in a concertina.

I would have thought that the safety equipment on this train would have never let the driver go so fast in this area.

Whether you thought his tactics were correct or not in the Falkland Islands, it's a sad day for the Navy to say goodbye to Admiral 'Sandy' Woodwood, Commander of the fleet that retook the islands in 1982.
Admiral Woodwood died yesterday after a long illness, aged 81.

After the Falklands conflict he was awarded the Segrave Trophy for racing to the islands in three weeks, a record at the time, normally awarded to Land or Water Speed record challengers or racing drivers.
