On tunnelling: I loved the Radio 4 interview with the Great Escape survivor earlier this week.

(Paraphrasing - but only a bit!)

Reporter (in the studio): And where are you?
Survivor: In a wet and dark Poland, next to the camp.
Reporter: And what can you see of the tunnel?
Survivor: Well, I can't see the tunnel. It's underground.

I wondered the same thing. I thought, who would stand by filming a small boy being mauled by a dog instead of trying to help him, until I realised that it was security camera footage, from 2 different angles. One angle showed the dog sneaking around the parked car, and the other showed the actual attack and subsequent rescue by Super Cat.

I think anywhere in the world, crime is rife these days and especially in the US where gun crime is of the norm, people more and more have CCTV on their property for protection.............the day will come in the UK when we start becoming less complacent and more objective about our own protection when constantly the budgets for policing are cut, and fewer and fewer bobbies are on the beat
