Yes, lets hope the weather smiles on them today as well.  I looked at the route map and it looks like they are going up that cobbled road out of Howarth before heading for Last of the Summer Wine country.

Now let me get this completely straight......

Bernie Ecclestone's trial for allegedly giving a banker (or was he a blackmailer?) a bribe of £26M was stopped when German prosecutors accepted a £60M "payment" from the same Bernie Ecclestone to prevent him being sentenced to jail.  :o

When does a charitable donation become an administration fee become a bribe become the proceeds of extortion? I guess it just depends who's paying it and to whom.................

The maddening thing is that the whole affair reeks of corruption and greed and they're not even trying to hush it up. I shall put Mr Ecclestone in the same box I have for Michael Ryan and Rupert Murdoch, neither of whom will ever know what it feels like to trouser any of my money. I hope all true motor-racing fans will do the same.

Year, hear, Dave, and doubly so for Rupert Murdoch. He's a turncoat Australian who became an American citizen for tax reasons, but still wields great influence over the Liberal party here. He, or rather, his newspaper, ran a campaign in favour of the Liberal party in the last Federal election which saw the current government elevated to power. He pays no, or very little, tax here yet still wants to be a power broker. I can't stand the man >>:-(

As for corruption in F1, that would be similar to what happens in many world sporting organisations, e.g., FIFA and the International Olympic Committee, to name two <*<

BBC News:  Announced at NATO today.  HMS Prince of Wales will be completed and go into service, rather than be sold off or mothballed.  Do we have enough suitable ships to form support groups for two carriers?

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-29075307

At 1/96 scale they would be just over nine and a half feet long

We just need enough rope to keep one tied up alongside in Pompey, while the other can be tied up alongside in Pompey, broken!
And lets just stop mucking around and re-name her Ark Royal :-))

The claim of '100% availability' with two ships sounds a wee bit optimistic to me - but it's better than having just one ship!

Irrespective of the person and the crime involved, does anyone else find the idea that a sentence can be referred to the Attorney General's Office on the basis of just four complaints a bit sinister?

After all, it takes a minimum of 100,000 signatures on a petition for the House of Commons to even consider debating it.

Lynsey De Paul
« Reply #624 on: October 02, 2014, 02:21:16 pm »

For all those male children of the 60's/70's...........you will all be sad to hear that Linsey de Paul passed away yesterday after suffering from a brain haemorrhage............

kids look at all the young girl pop stars of today and their music, and sex appeal, ..............none of them, nor even Kylie Minogue could hold a candle light to the pure beauty and sex appeal when Lynsey was in her youth...... and even in middle age.............she was a beauty to behold {:-{

I still listen to her music, and she made some wonderful stuff..............and it's a sad loss for us ol' gits today to hear of this.

RIP Lynsey.........you certainly brought  wonderment to all us young lads in your day and our youth.
