Not that I would expect anybody in the media to know that the West Coast Main Line was either on the west, near a coast or a railway line, even less to be aware of where the old lady originated and spent her working days on the opposite side of the country.  But - in her long preservation days before rebuilding, Flying Scotsman did operate on the WCML, and the journey reported was from Carnforth to Carlisle then returning south over the Settle to Carlisle over Ribblehead.  So technically, if accidentally, correct.  It might have been better for them to just say "main line".

BBC:  Australia seizes methamphetamine smuggled in bra inserts - http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-australia-35576587

Police in Australia have made what they are calling one of the biggest drug busts in the country's history.

Well yes....." Australia seizes methamphetamine smuggled in bra insert"

This is true, however the origin of the said women's attire...''bra's" were of Chinese origin & sizing

As we know Chinese amps are approx. 1/2 the value of European amps......so our Customs & Excise  :police: are halving the reported value of the drug bust according to the scientifically proven fact that Asian breasts are also about 1/2 the sizing of breasts from European studies..... {-) ....... Clarkson, clever presenter but I have no time for him.
Oisin Tymon, I wonder who would want to work with him now?!

100% agreement.
The  St Nazaire raid was my favourite war comic story, which lead to reading the book and then going there in the 80s and several times since.
Clarkson did a superb job of that presentation which matched all my interpretations of the events.

PQ17: An Arctic Convoy Disaster  was another programme which for me, he brought the right level of story and respect to the programme.

I think there was a mini series on Victoria Cross awards too.

How much will we all have to pay in supporting a dwindling BBC  because of someone’s' actions?

Yes should get rid of the people who got rid of him at the BBC !!!, anyway from the goings on in the last few years I think Clarkson is the least of their worries..

Didn't he refer to the whole locomotive as "the train" rather than just the engine?

Duncan

Saw here, & enjoyed being pulled by her, on the Severn Valley a few years ago.

I know that I am the exception but the Flying Scotsman does not really do much for me but this was just beautiful.
