Why aren't they allowed to be considered as responsible experienced train photographers!

After all they could have paid for a platform ticket and stood less than a meter from the moving train. Even touched it!

I believe trespassing upon railway tracks by the general public IS a criminal offence. No excuse for such behaviour.

Just the same as running across a railway crossing when the gates or barriers are blocking the public right of way. A criminal offence.

Google "Flying Scotsman Photos" - you can get all the photos you could want, some free of charge, that way nobody gets hurt, prosecuted, or held up.

No they have to rendezvous with a bowser of water if there is no handy lineside hose, same with coal . A truck load and shovels if you dont have a loader of some kind. Preserved lines usually have towers and coaling plants as they used to be. I doubt if troughs still exist.

Intersting one this...my personal thought on it...I actually agree with what they did...knowing the stretch of road they did it on ....it is pitch black and a very fast stretch of dual carriageway.....and before anyoe says it I AM A DOG lover

Even the owner said it was the right thing to do !!, had already bitten an officer, but must admit impressed by the fact they could not catch it but were able to run it down at speed..

I guess we have to trust the decision of the guys on the scene and in possession of all the facts. I too favour pooches but you wouldn't catch me jumping into the sea at Blackpool to save one. Decisions can cost a life very easily.

Just some oaf doing a totally irresponsible stunt in a totally unsuitable spot and acting as a dumb role model for the weak of brain. I have seen this kind of trick "performed" in a public car park by a less skilled driver who thought he wasn't until he proved it. Luckily it was "only" somebody elses' car he bent, not a person. Not too surprised to hear the Top Gear have retained the idiocy by gathering a new batch.
