Some of the comments are, shall we say, illuminating? I've always found that advert so grotesque that I've closed my eyes whenever it came on, but now I shall see it in a totally different light  ;D

OK Martin. I accept your judgement. From now on the only topic allowed on this forum is model boats - nothing else . So be it.

Bit sad though isn't it ?
I expect I'll get moderated or banned, but hey ho!

Would suggest you take a couple of deep breaths, and go read what Martin said, again, only this time in a positive way.

Because, I got an entirely different take on what he wrote.

Our new S63 Bristows helo arrived at Caernarfon airport yesterday. Getting ready to take over from the RAF Seaking SAR boys. Not sure when the change over occurs but they haven't finished the hanger yet.
Will be sad to see them go, (they fly over my house nearly every day). Well done, thankyou and farewell.
They do rescue peeps from boats so should qualify for this thread.
Jerry.

We have one at Humberside Airport.
Replaced Leconfield's SAR.
No wonder Prince Wills got made redundant and
has gone flying an Air Ambulance.  O0

It's a brilliant helicopter at Humberside - able to be in two places at once - as it is also taking over from
the Sea King at RAF Boulmer.  I don't think there is a day we don't see it overhead or heading for the
Lake District

Yeah, we do - along with other choice phrases such as "intit cowudd?", "ayergorra wiya?" and "yermardybogger!". Such a rich culture is to be celebrated, especially by Ms Jolie and Ms Parton (who clearly know class when they hear it).
Cheers, m'ducks!

They missed the classic from Barnsley area, Ay up love. Used for addressing both men and women. Its really odd to be called love by another bloke %)

Or move to Hull which has classics such as narn nanety narn (£9.99) berds (birds) gorra (got one) There is even a book available to explain all the Hull colloquialisms.

Another boat lost thankfully with her crew safe. A few NE boats down fishing that area out of Newlyn in the last week or two.

I know the skipper that had her away , have known Alan for over 25 years and to say this was a shock is an understatement. They are all ashore in Ireland now, a boat can be replaced human lives can't

While its shocking that a boat has sunk, but thankfully the crew has been saved. I do have to question the motives of the owners.

The boat had four Filipino crew aboard. Why Filipino's? surely with the amount of Scottish fishermen or even fishermen from the south west out of work, it should have been crewed by some of them? The only reason for employing a crew from half way around the world is to save a few quid on crewing costs, it is so wrong that they can get away with doing this.

we getting into politics here guys, because it's all about  the EU and their quota's, time available at sea, and making a living whilst paying off huge loans for their boats................of course the owners are going to choose the cheapest route........... and that is hiring inexpensive crew.

can you blame them?? I can't ......because we still want our fish and chips as cheap as possible down the take way!! {:-{ {:-{ {:-{

It's not greed, it's survival!!

especially when the Spanish and French, and Russian fishing fleets flaunt quota's as easily as cheating kids out of their candy bars with little or no action against them..................and yet, let a brit flaunt them and they are virtually put out of business with staggering penalties leaving them penniless for life. >>:-( >>:-( >>:-( >>:-( >>:-(.

It's not politics Neil.
It's straight business, and yes, I know the quota bit is set by Govt., same down under.
But, its present day Banking and Big Business practices which run this.
It's the old maxum, Profits up, costs down, same as always.
All run by accountants who don't give a damn other than the bottom line.
As I said before, GREED at the top, drives all this
 :-))
I'm just happy I'm out of all that now
The smaller owners are caught in the middle, and to survive are doing what the big boys do, or they are out as you say.
