Honestly, in the real world, Trident has to go.
A handful of nations in the world have nukes, and once 'in the club' there seems to be no way out, politically or defensively, but which capability is really more useful?
This smacks of the 1981 defence review all over again, and look where that led us >>:-(

We should remember that there have been models based on decoy ducks for many years.  Passers by have tried to feed many of them.  A radio controlled croc should be much more fun.  Maybe with a "tick-tock" sound effect?

From our ABC News
"United States President Donald Trump said he planned to allow the opening of long-secret files on the November 1963 assassination of President John F. Kennedy, subject to further information."
"Saturday's Washington Post said Kennedy assassination experts do not think the last batch of papers contains any major bombshells, but may shed light on the activities of Oswald while he was traveling in Mexico City in late September 1963, and courting Cuban and Soviet spies."

Or not so interesting.

Near miss! Fans sail close to the wind

Fans got a very close-up view of the action as two boats narrowly sailed past them during the first leg of the Volvo Ocean race from Alicante to Lisbon
Wow that was close - some amazing manoeuvring

My wife mentioned this to me on friday, she wondered if we might nip across to Alicante, its only 30 miles away. The video demonstrates why I said no. Starting out at sea, you would see next to nothing from the seafront and those spectator boats cost an arm and leg to get aboard.

Best view would be from the Easy Jet EZ flight into Alicante Airport. Just ask the pilot to circle a couple of times

Looks like holidays in Spain could be about to get difficult... Catalonia declares UDI , revoked and Spanish government control put in place within minutes and now the possibility of troops on the streets.....

And another 'safe' holiday destination bites the dust!

On the other hand, we are currently at Aswan on  Nile cruise and all seems quiet although there are men with guns everywhere. A bit like America really but possibly safer.

Holidays in Spain do look difficult now, especially for European tourists. And looks like it's only going to get worse: they are already following the first scenario, making Spain less attractive for tourism and investors as well: https://tranio.com/spain/analytics/how-the-independence-referendum-will-affect-the-barcelona-property-market_5414/, Barcelona is already tired of mass tourism and UDI does not help to attract them more. Well, now we still have more or less politically neutral Greece ready to take yesterday's Spanish tourists, in the end (probably?) Greece will have the advantage of all this Catalonian situation and who knows maybe Athens will become a new "Barcelona" for European tourists. Few of my friends have already chosen Greece this summer/fall instead of Spain. We will see...

North Korea nuclear base COLLAPSES killing at least 200 people, local reports claim, amid fears of massive radioactive leak

https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/4806082/north-korea-nuclear-base-collapses-killing-200-radioactive-leak-fears-latest-updates/

First reported by Japanese TV News , if true then this could easily lead to the contamination of ground water , the release of radioactive gas which would end up heading to China , Russia and Japan....

well, I'm not surprised, with a nutter like him knowing sod all about nuclear fission and fusion.........and the differences between them............I'm just amazed that the powers that be in China and/or Russia haven't had someone "take him out" already, in a surreptitious way, lol. After all it is those two countries who will now suffer the most from his meddling.

He was a very interesting man to meet.

I was one member of a Great Egg Race team in 1984, it was an all day recording session at Pebble Mill Studios and Prof. Wolff happily spent the day chatting, not only about himself but also asking about us and our teams.

We were fortunate enough to win that day and my giant egg cup has pride of place on the shelf above my monitors.

So she has a dribble from a prop shaft seal, nothing unusual to a Mayhemer. Perhaps Martin should give the MOD a link to this site. I suspect the hype in The Sun will bring the readers out in droves to watch her sink.

It made me smile too.  200 litres an hour is less than a bath full, the real problem would be if her bilge pumps couldn't handle that amount.
