Not really, given that the only news appears to do with c19 and nothing else matters according to the media  >>:-(

They're after hand sanitizers and BOG ROLLS . . .
The Beeb have got that one covered. The 1pm News reader today passed over to "Our Seoul correspondent in Korea".  This was pronounced in much the same way that 'Ireland' becomes 'Arland' and 'Our Girl' is apparently 'Ah Girl...'  %)

Just received an Email from Admiral Insurance saying that as their is so little traffic on the roads they feel able to give all their existing customers a £25 refund for each car insured with them ! To be paid back into their bank or card accounts in the coming month or so.
Got two cars insured with them so I think that a further contribution going to the above account.

Great ........................ as long as they are not asking for details of where you want the money to go or anything else.

Yes , this might well initiate a flood of scamming emails.   The genuine communication is not asking for any bank or card details , they are automatically making rebate to the source the policy payment originated from. If anyone gets one requesting personal details it is a scam

Ah but in the small print  re claims says similar due to less vehicles  on the road etc., so any accidents are probably your fault so all excesses are increased by£50 {-)

They will probably claim its essential to drive to keep the car charged up.

To some extent that is true. Unless you can get a battery charger connected then your battery will indeed die in 3 weeks or so depending on its condition. If you have to park in the street then your only options may be to take the car for a shortish run or leave it idling for 15-20 minuets once a week. The longer you leave it the longer it will take to recharge. The advantage of a 5 mile run is that it also warms up the engine and keeps surfaces lubricated.

Otherwise maybe remove the battery from the car and charge it at home but on modern cars that will b****r up all your settings, phone connection and maybe reset the engine management system. The Government don't care of course....

My car is stranded on the drive long term.

I would thoroughly recommend the CTEK 3.8 smart battery charger.
https://www.tayna.co.uk/battery-chargers/ctek/mxs3-8/?gclid=EAIaIQobChMItsOmlbX86AIVmKztCh2ZzAyZEAkYASABEgIpqfD_BwE

No need to disconnect the battery.  Clip the leads on and let it go through its cycle one a week.
Suitable for all lead acid batteries.
