The next major show coming up with a substantial submarine involvement is this one.
A good show but with a new (and untried) venue. Lots of Traders and members of the public. Held over the Bank Holiday Weekend (Not on the Monday though.)
See some of you there!
(Flyers follow:)

The Flyer shows a model on the water, can you confirm that there will be a pond available at the new venue ?

Hi Kinmel and Stan,

I'm not the organiser, but I'm assured that there will be a pond but smaller than the one we've had in the past. Maybe sub enthusiasts just turning up for free-sailing could be disappointed??

There are rumours that the large pond across the race course is also being looked at. But I don't spread rumours!

There is plenty more to see and do anyway. This show is also edging southwards for those coming from t' Midlands or t' South :-)

And Stan, we look forward to seeing you. We will have an AMS stand, as always,  and you will recognise us because we have horns.(Actually not - answering some previous posts! :D)

I'm looking forward to it and see you there!

HI Davy1. I will be taking a small submarine the Graupner U 16  only about  3 in in length 1.5 in beam. Rest of my models are skimmers.  I like the U S navy WW 2  period. My Escort Carrier  Gambier Bay will not at the convention.I hope to build  a second  flat top in the future to go with Gambier Bay.

Well you won't want a big pond for that little critter.

One of Dive-in regulars brought one of those along to Brockwell a couple of years ago. He put it in the water, but was gradually being sucked back towards the filter inlet. We all had visions of it being sucked in and spat out in a thousand bits, so it got hooked out sharpish!  :embarrassed:

Hi Stan,

I think that the Graupner (and some a litttle bigger) will be perfect.

Interestingly if you look at the recent Edinburgh thread the middle one of the last 3 videos is, I think, a Graupner. Brilliant little thing.

See you at the show!

Hi Kinmell

The small pool that was at Birchwood will be available.  We are still trying to arrange another pool.

Haydock has almost all the facilities its a nice place to have this kind of show ,should emagine that a pool would be erected on the racetrack ,it wont do any harm ,and is flat .nice area too . the steam rallies were here ,they were all o k .

That's good news, Dave 301. I think it will continue to be a very good event.

I've heard that the pool is 20 feet long and we've asked for it to be filled as much as possible. So it should be fine for small subs and will be a very good test tank at the least!

Good luck at the new venue,

I am sure it will be a good move and hopefully will be the first of many at Haydock. The pool is a nice addition and both Warwick and Donny shows prove you don't need a big natural pool to enjoy a succesful show.Only sorry I have to miss this one due to holidays.I will look forward to the pics.that are sure to appear here.

Well a very nice weekend show at the very good  new venue. Our thanks to the organizers and all who attended.
Congratulations to David J who won a prize for his great, new "Victor" boat.
Just a  few photos to set the scene (The first photo shows just one of the halls - there were about 6 in total. The next 2 show the  AMS  stand, which was often very busy - maybe because we were next door to the Cafe!)
