It's looking very nice Wallace.

To get the water line accurate, have you tried floating her in the bath  (correctly weighed down ) with Talcum powder in the water. When you carefully lift her out it will leave a line around the hull.   :}

Cheers

Ken many thanks have never tried that way before always used my eyes and the plans but I will have a go.
Do you put the T- powder on top of the water before the boat goes in or the other way round.

Hi Wallace,

Sprinkle it across the water top and immerse the boat gently. Lift it back out carefully and marks crucial points at intervals with a soft pencil.   :}

It's when it slips out of your hand and crashes into the water that causes much mirth.

Hi Wallace

I just thought I might send you a picture of my Resolve.

A bit of a rush job compared to your progress and some features were guessed at and now need to be altered after futher research.

These were again taken by Tony Holt on our Droitwich Club Waters.

Hope it encourages your progress as it is a very interesting model to build.

I have also included an original for information

Hi Wallace

Got to admit it was a lot of me time but I did have a heater in the workspace and cyno certainly solves a lot of problems.
At the end of the day its what suits as a life style and we are all different.
It now leaves a space to fill  -  What next ???

These are photos of the building of the wheelhouse and to be honest I built the wheelhouse two times as I didnt like the first one so took it apart and re-done as nothing matches the plans that I have but it done now and its looking good.

Hi Wallace
So sorry to hear about illness but its a pleasure to see you back in action and reminding me of the problems and solutions you are going through.
I did find a slight problem of fit with the wheelhouse as you have to cut the veneer by hand and it can be a little brittle and fitting it to the CNC cut base needs a steady touch.
Good luck with the result

That looks superb Wallace.  What brushes do you use please as I'd like to get away from spray paint now and again. ?  Also, do you thin down the paint as ten coats sound a lot.

cheers

Thanks for lovely reply to my build ie painting.
The brushes I use are sable brushes all are small headed from  1mm upto 10mm I painted the hull with the 10mm and the paint I use is all humbrol but the ships side is x royal navy paint ,I always rub down between coats and any bits I dont like a harder rub the wet and dry and sand paper goes upto 2000 so as I build up the coats the hight the grade of paper and I always leave coats on for min of 48 hours before another coat lightly rub then paint again.I never ever thin the paint down because I like a beautiful finish hope this helps one and all.
