Kirklees Navy Day
« on: August 11, 2011, 09:29:33 am »

Kirklees Model Boat Club will be holding its naval day on Sunday the 11th September at Wilton Park Batley. We hope to have with us this year some very large 1/72 scale model warships and also members from the SWA. The day is to promote model warships, exchange ideas, sail model warships and enjoy a fun day. If you would like to build a naval ship then please feel free to come along and ask any questions you may have. Start time 10 am until 4 pm.  Refreshments will be available. if you do not have a model warship but would like to sail any other type of model you are still very welcome. Any steam powered models will need a valid boiler certificate. If you need more information then you can send me a p/m or contact me via the club web site kirkleesmodelboatclub.org.uk Sat nav post code can be taken from website home page.

Hope you have booked the sun.
It is Penistone Show weekend and it usually pours it down.

Good work Richtea, some very nice shots there... it was a good day today and the rain held off!

Grand to see the navy gang getting their plimsolls wet with many excellent examples in attendance...

The "Iona" paddle steamer was majestic and fun to watch... but boy, she was carrying some serious ballast!!

BTW, many thanks for the shot of my Northwind 28(yellow hatch cover)in your gallery, I also managed a "rescue" of a couple of "toy" electrics with my pilot "Scarborough" around lunch time too...

Many thanks to all involved in getting the day rolling and on to the next... KMBC rocks!!!  :-))

Thanks to Stan and Kirklees MBC for the invite to a warm welcome and busy day with our display attracting a good crowd throughout. Weather forecasters has us doubting any sailing would occur, or even if our gazebo's etc would not end up doing a Mayhem Flying Competition...instead almost wall to wall sunshine and a sheltered location.

Thanks to all who contributed a MASSIVE £88.00 to Help $ Heroes, a major achievement when considering we only displayed from 9am till 3pm

regards Rex, Mandy, Bry, Rob and Tony
