advice on JCC sound model needed
« on: August 11, 2011, 12:12:46 pm »

Hi Gents.
I have a JCC PE310 sound module.

Could anyone throw any light into which of the two sets of Red and Black wires is the power input and what voltage the unit runs on?
Many thanks.

I have a JVC sound unit buried in my Waverley and to save getting it down and opening her up, here is a quick test.

One way to check is to test it with a meter set on Ohms.

If you go to the largest capacitor on the board and place one probe on the Positive terminal and the other probe on each of the screw terminals, there's a good chance this is the feed voltage connection.

Also you can check the negative connection of the capacitor this way.  The other connections will be sound out, either to a speaker direct or an amplifier.

When you're ready to connect up then start with 6 volts before going to 12 volts.

Sorry I don't have any diagrams but hope this helps.

outside red and black power connection  6-18 volts ( with the positive on the outside)

inside red and black to a suitable 8ohm speaker ( with the black  closest to the centre as per your photo )

           3 watts for 6 v
           7   ..........  9 v
           10  .........  12v
           15  .........  18v
