Hi couple from the archives

This is Don Walkinshaw's model of The Bluebird, on its first run on the water with the gas turbine running - he did not 'open the throttle up' as he was running the model from person to person for trials  ;D.   This is South Shields Model Boat Club - I believe the person with the baldy head could be MikeK  ;D

This is for the Type 42 lads, HMS Manchester on her 'trials'

The next is HMS Cornwall on her Sea trials

Hi All

another one from the Archives - this was taken on a night time sail a few years ago - the grey tug in the photograph (if you can make it out) is a tug called Growler, I dont know what happened to this tug - it disappeared a while ago from the scene.  The red boat was modelled on the River Tyne fire boat - I dont know who the Boston stern trawler belongs to  ;D  The sun tug between Growler and I think its the Smit Nederland was a lad's first scratch build and he made a good job of it.   It was good fun sailing at night, only problem was we had some very weird looks from the drunks and we were asked once or twice by the Police what we were doing  :-[
