Hi there guys, there's not been huge progress done on it since the last posts by 6705russell.
I'll be doing some more work to it over the weekend and figuring out just what's left to be done. Mainly it's small detail work and the internal wiring, both of which have been started.
The main point of note is that with work done it's now going to be 1/72 scale as it's nearly impossible to revert to 1/96 with work done but it looks great on 1/72 scale.
Of course my main plan was to have interchangeable tops for it, which will still be happening but priority is to get it finished as the supertanker, get it on the water and use it! Plans are already made for the container ship top for it, drew them up yesterday...
Yep Mick, cars are never quite big enough!
At 8' it's not practical to wedge it in the car, I managed to scrape the paintwork just picking it up yesterday. So I can see a day spent making a sturdy but not to heavy (queue laughter) box to go on the car roof. I'll be making it big enough so it will be able to carry 9'6" Prinz Eugen too, not both at once though, lol.
I'll probably post some more pics later or tomorrow,
Dave.
