More pics now I've figured how to upload using my mobile. Started the container ship top too, she's quite a size with it in place. Will hopefully finish it over next few weekends, will be taking her to Warwick hopefully.

Full colour graphics of containers are available on the net some cost very little some free.  I`ll try to see where I got these.   The corrugated surface is a quite convincing print but I`ve done a few with corrugated paper painted and simple markings. Cut up and stuck onto the big box will be the finishing touch.

That's not good Mick, hope mine is a bit more structurally sound!  O0

Thanks for the links guys, saw the printed containers but would be awkward to seal and fix them to rigid box. Im planning to get some vinyl lettering and logos made up for the containers.

Well she's nearly finished, some may notice the funnel has changed to Maersk blue, (looks lighter than actually is). The rest of the black area of hull will be resprayed soon hopefully.
I'm going to have the markings for the containers specially made up as I want to keep it as waterproof as I can. These will be ordered soon and should provide that finishing touch.

No need to repaint the hull - Maersk charters containerships occasionally; the funnel gets a repaint and 'Maersk' is added to the name.

And, in a near-miraculous coincidence, here's a photo of just such a ship: http://www.shipspotting.com/gallery/photo.php?lid=1049827

That's interesting bit of information, didn't realise they did that too. I'll probably respray the black anyway as I like the blue colour scheme and it'll stand out a bit better than black. Plus I've already bought the paint, it won't take too long to do anyway.

Not so much chartered technically for this one (and her sisters), the owner/operator company was a Maersk aquisition, and as you suggest, Maersk in their vanity eventually stick maersk infront or behind (if it's a Danish vessel).
I sailed on this one a couple of times, on her second voyage actually, as well as one of the sisters.

Seasons greeting fellow Mayhemers.
I've now marked up the containers, got a few more left to do yet and sorted the funnel out. I'm hoping for a decent weekend so I can get the hull repainted soon. I know the lettering is slightly larger than would appear in real life but this was intended as I wanted it to stand out and be able to be read on the water.
Many thanks to Barry Sullivan at Barry's Model Lettering for doing such a great job with all the decals, I'll hopefully be taking it to a few shows next year. Didn't attend much this year due to work commitments.

NOW that would be great for the tug towing comps, though finding a lake big enough for it to turn in let alone sail on would be a challenge, most places I have seen would struggle to have a 7.5t truck enter and a fork lift and an ambulance - for the hernia gotten while lifting the batteries in  {-)

Blimey I thought 96th scale was ambitious! I've not seen that one before, assume it's been made for Maersk as a static model? Would like to see more pics of it.

Hello
This fabulous model looks to be the one displayed at the new Danish  maritime museum at Helsingør
http://mfs.dk/en/
There is just a problem to sail her as there is a  hole on starboard side  {:-{

Cheers
