A golden oldie...
« on: August 19, 2011, 08:49:11 am »

Just found this pic on my hard drive, anyone remember seeing it...goes back to the late 80's, I guess? The Sealink ferry 'St. Columbia', scratch built by Ken Bellman, one time chairman of the Eastbourne Model Power Boat Club.

I used to really enjoy sailing this boat, she was so stable and easy to drive.

It was about the best sailing boat I've ever used, I think...it was so very stable, so steady, and with the independent motor control and the bow rudder she'd turn on a sixpence.

I'm not sure about the scale to be honest...1/72nd maybe? She was a big old beast.

Ken often used to let me use it at regattas, I won several trophies with it around the country.

Found the plan set for the ferry....she's named St Columba, and not St Columbia, and she's at 1/100th scale.

This boat's right up my street too. Might be worth buying the plans.
