Advice Required Atlantis
« on: September 03, 2011, 07:42:12 pm »

Hello all, I have just put my first ever proper build into water today.
My Atlantis is sitting about 20mm above her line towards the bow, I'm not sure if this is correct or whether I need to introduce extra ballast...if so what do I use?
I did conduct an experiment and a 3.70 lb weight got her sitting dead level.
I have posted some pictures for any advice that you may have.
Thank you.

 Hello Steve,

Check everything!, is the keel on correctly, can you move  the batteries forward - - longer wiring.
Any ballast in the Hull?, move it forwards.
If all else fails, put some weight in the Hull as far forward as possible.
When you fitted the weights on to the boat, did it sit correctly fore and aft?.

Hello Steve,

Just looked at the boat Hull, there must be Ballast inside the keel,
Is it all in the correct place?, can any of it be moved forward?.

Hiya,
The ballast is set, it will only sit in one place and there's no adjustment its and 11kg cast iron weight made to the shape of the hull, soon as you drop it in thats it !!!!.

If you can move the battery forward this may help.

If you are going to add more weight, I would not put it too far forward as this make he turn more slowly than if the weight were more central.
