Similar to Fairey Swordsman

Unfortunately I am totally inept at building anything intricate.

So, as I have a hankering for the Fairey Swordsman I have tried to buy one to no avail.

Next choice is now to get the plastic out. My first choice is a MFA Spearfish ( http://www.cornwallmodelboats.co.uk/acatalog/mfa-spearfish.html ) - it has similar lines to the open cockpit Huntsman/Swordsman. Does anyone have any comments or other suggestions ?

It's genuine Fairey design.
Quite similar to the Swordsman.
So why not? Go for it.
36" model, nice size

Of course, there are plenty of similar bear hulls of that type about but that kit has all the superstructure as well so all the hard work is done for you.

the fairey spear and spearfish were originally taken from a grp mould taken from the fairey huntsman 31 hull , moulded in fibreglass instead of hot moulded agba plywood , the spear was originally a closed wheelhouse version and sold to the mod , police etc , while the spearfish was an open rear cockpit civvy variant .
