Born again novice - sort of...
« on: September 05, 2011, 10:46:42 pm »

I have just got (back) into R/C Sailing after about 5 years. Originally started with an Aussie 2, about 7 years ago, and to be honest got quite bored with it, so I gave up. Very recently I got back into it, but after a few weeks realised that I wanted something better... so I bought a Victoria. I took my time building it (around 8 days, well, mostly evenings!), and am happy with the result. See attached.

I have incorporated a few modifications during the build, but I do feel that there is still room for improvement. For example, I have padded out the radio box with adhesive backed foam, replaced about 75% of the supplied rigging with nylon coated wire, and sealed the underside of the hatch with a sheet of silicone rubber.

I don't race, just sail for fun/relaxation, and I'm not currently a member of a club. I am therefore looking for any advice on offer of improvements etc. that other people might have tried and tested.

I'd be very grateful for any feedback. Thanks in advance!

The eagle eyed amongst you will notice that there is nothing attached! This is because the file size was too large, so I'll have to try again after reducing the images.....
