Scale size?
« on: September 06, 2011, 07:37:38 AM »

Anyone know what sort of scale the Dickie tug is (roughly)...I want to get a few bits for mine, like a tow hook, deck fittings, maybe a couple of crewmen.

I guessing around...what, 1/50th? 1/60th?

Crew men on the Dickie suggest 1/48
Tyres suggest 1/24 but are obviously way over scale.
I'd go with your original estimate.
The fittings i.e winches & crane seem to be overscale so would
need to be scaled down or removed to allow a 1/48 towing hook
to look right.

Thanks Ned, that'll do for me.

I've thrown away a lot of the fittings, most of which were a bit crude, to say the least. Made up one winch out of the two, and I'll keep the working fire monitor, I think...that'll be ok with a bit of a tidy up.

I'll go a'hunting round the 'net for a winch, dingy, bollards...that sort of thing.

Thanks mate,

I did mine to 1:48 scale Rich. Easy for crew.
