right guys, im out of my depth on `race ` boats, youngun wants a boat, i have a bladerunner hes been playing with, tops missing, looks like a dog  but it goes ok, so apparently hes been haunting mum for one, needless top say shes asked me  {:-{, may be a fad, or he may take to it being 14, hes more instant gratification than  satifaction from building then running, so shes been pointed at ebay, threrein lies the problem, there seems to be a fair few twin motors using the 380 cans, has anyone any experience or at least advice from what to stay away from, as i say it may be a fad with him and tbh they are not my scene, fast attack boats do it for me,  nitro is out were mostly i sail

My advice is stay away from rtr boats period especially on ebay unless you buy from a reputable outlet.Pmb or aztec models might have what your looking for but they dont come cheap but at least they will last longer than 5 minutes before failing miserably.

this is the problem, if its going to be a flash in the pan it means theres a boat i wont use, will never get the cash back on and is an expensive sit in a cupboard item

if my old bladerunner had the original top i would seriously think about changing it to brushless, giving it a paintjob and  letting him have that, least then if it became a flash in the pan the motor and esc would be of use
