Resin Parts

I am (trying) to build a model warship which has resin fittings (funnels, guns etc). Can any one tell me the best way to prepare these fittings for painting??

Many Thanks

Make sure they are clean - I usually use washing up liquid in water and then rinse with clean water - you have to make
sure you get any release agent off the cast parts - I use acrylic spray primer then topcoat -
I find the topcoat sticks better if it has a primer coat.
