Visited this excellent establishment at the weekend. Mentioning it here as, in addition to all the aircraft, they have a nice collection of model rescue launches. Lots more info on the full size ones, and some pretty obscure service craft - how about a bomb scow? Also a very good looking rescue launch captured from the Germans and put into service, very E boat looking.

I took my dad there several years ago, he was ROC and I recall there were quite a bit of related exhibits there. Not a massive place but well worth going, I felt they should publicise it a bit more widely.

Went there while in the area a few years ago.  Picked the wrong day as it was closed. <:(  Could only look at the
aircraft which were parked outside the fence at the time.  A return visit is a must.

If you visit Yorkshire then Eden Camp near Malton on the A64 is worth a visit,
The Hut devoted to the Royal Navy Patrol Service and the Human torpedoes are worth the admission price alone,
never mind the other thirty odd exhibitions that take you from the first World War to the post WWII conflicts.
It covers the Home Front, Civil Defence and the Auxiliary Fire Service and the Bevin Boys.

Hi,
A  few  photos  of  the  RAF  Marine  Branch  exhibits  at  Flixton.  Two  portacabins  packed  with  photos,  information  and  models.

One  of  the  old  style  museums  with  plenty  of  things  to  look  at  and  one  of  the  best  military  museums  I  have  seen  for  a  long  time.

Regards

Danny
