Hi Dicky, lookking very nice !! I must stop looking, getting that wanting feeling again  %% %%
On the port side view, could you not record the tv program, & freeze frame it so you could get a reasonable look at where the vents etc go, plus size etc ?
Good luck. Keep posting Dan.

Hi Dicky

Have a look at my build, Glens build of an Armidale. I am building a 1:50 scale on one of Steves hulls.
If you like private message me and i may be able to help you with some details.

I presume you mean the vents on the angled part of the bonnet.
The front one is to the Generator room as drawing below.
The first boats only had one grill but this was soon altered to the two grilles.
There are two smaller ones, one on each side further back.
See my PM for further information.
The dimensions are in mm. for 1:50 scale.
The whole boat is basically set out on a 1.2 metre grid which should help positioning.

Thanks for that Bri, very helpful.

Have now cut out the wash ports [no more GRP to cut thank god] and dusted myself down.

Cut and fitted upright braces to bulwarks [tedious]

Fixed remainder of plastic bits to hull.

Once I receive the drawings from Bri I should have more idea about the fittings and where they go.

Just had a look at the drawings Brian sent me and they are absolutely excellent. Thanks Brian.

Now all we need to do is get him to do a set of 1:72 drawings.  {-)

You could try getting them reduced at an architectural plan printers. They should have the equipment to handle A1 drawings.
The dimensions would not be correct but they could be amended.
Altermatively you could order a 1:50 hull from Steve and join the rest of us. LOL

Follow the herd, I think not ! Anyway my wife would not be able to launch it for me at that size.

Feeling a little better now so did a bit more to the boat today.

I finished the main mast and fixed it to the superstructure.

I then made and fitted the rear deck air intakes.

Not much done but it took me all afternoon.

Forgot to mention that I will have to contact Dave at ACTion later this week to order the black art bits I still need.

I already have the new P94 ready to fit.  :-))

Haven'rt been feeling so good lately so I havent done any boat building. <:(

However I am feeling a bit better this week so I have done a little to the Armidale.

Relying heavily on Dave at ACTion to supply me with the right parts because, as most of you know, me and electrics are like oil and water, I placed my order with him the other

afternoon and as usual it turned up the following day. :-))

I have fitted these parts over the last couple of days and they work !! :o

I have fitted the following ACTion thingys.

P92 POWER DISTRIBUTION BOARD

DOUBLE P95 INDICATOR FUSE BOARDS

THE ALL SINGING ALL DANCING, BRAND NEW SELF SETTING UP, P94 LITE DUAL ESC AND MIXER

This new P94 does away with previous problems that have been encountered with the cheaper R/C systems.

I am using the Planet 5 system in this boat and the control using the new P94 is incredible. The motors run as intended and as fast or slow as you like without any speed controller noise.

I am at the moment using a 7.2v 4600mAh racing pack from The Component Shop to power everything.

Thats all for now except for a couple of photos.

Neat as a very shiny thing on a tidy day in Shipshapeville, Richard - I've a lump in my throat just looking at this installation  :-))
Glad you like the new software, too.

Dave the new P94 is excellent far better than the old one and is great with the Planet 5.

Nice to see a neat installation.  So many boats are spoilt by just dumping the electonics into the hull.    Then the builder wonders why it stops working.
I am wondering about the battery position.   It seems very far forward and with the fine bow section might give a bow heavy apppearance on the water.
I know with my 1:50 Ararat, floating in the bath, that the position is critical and I have had to adjust the battery position several times as I build new details.
At the moment it is just in front of the motors.

Hi Brian
Battery position is not fixed yet, will figure that out when I put it in the water.

Have had a rethink on the internal work and have moved the battery further back to just in front of the motors.

Hey Dicky
Looking good. My Dad is building one now in 1:72, He was asking if he could see a pic of the steering servo? hes not too sure where to put it.

See if this helps Glen.

I have altered it slightly by having the tiller arms connected to each other and only one rod to the tiller from the servo, straight back rather than on the angle.

Will see if I can get a better photo tomorrow.
