Put your foot on the plug hole.   So what if it floods the rest of the house.   At least you can test the boat.  :embarrassed:
I am fortunate that we have a bath and can kneel down to check the water line (Just  %%).
Of course, there is no substitute for a proper run on the lake to appreciate how the hull will behave when moving and at rest.  O0

That looks tidy with the clevis pin in the rudder stock.
Is that to stop servo arm hitting the connecting arm?

Still plodding on.

Have been making various lockers and vents.

I have glazed the wheel house windows, sprayed them inside and masked up the outside ready for spraying.

I have also sprayed the hull up to the waterline.

Very tidy Dicky.   :-))

I like little lockers and things.  It sets off the deck nicely.

Little more done today.

Got the complete boat under colour and started on constructing the forward mast.

Had to pack it in early for the day as the fumes were getting to me, still there is another day tomorrow.

Full size paint can in the paint locker of H.M.A.S. Vampire as of last Friday!  O0
Colour is Storm Grey to AS 1700 N 42
The deck colour is Pewter N 63
I am not sure how they compare with BS colours as I have lost my BS colour cards.
Deck colour matches dark grey primer from "Fiddly Bits".   I know because I almost lost sight of my sample when I laid it down on Vampires deck.  :embarrassed:
Black below water line.

Storm grey is a light to medium grey with a slight touch of green.
Pewter is a fairly dark plain grey.   The spray can was the darkest primer I could find.

Hi All
Dont forget the boat is finished in a SEMI gloss paint!!!! I have had some paints mixed up at Bunnings and they are pretty close for me.

N42 Storm grey. Semigloss
N63 pewter for the decks.

Did you know that semi gloss paint on a scale model can look like gloss.

This is the reason not many people use gloss paint, its too shiny on a model so semi gloss is used. :-))

Where did you get the gun, rhibs etc Glen ?

Steve Batcheldor has cast them nicely in resin at 1:50 including:-
Gun, Life Raft Containers, Bollards, Satellite Domes, RHIBs, OCCABA Containers.
You could see if he has plans to make them in smaller scales.
The main problem is they are a bit heavy.   I have drilled out the Sat domes to reduce the weight.
I intend to use satin for the Storm grey and flat primer for the decks and Bridge roof.

I've e'mailed Steve already Bri, but have not  heard from him yet.

I have now completed the front mast, another work up.

I've also resprayed the bottom of the hull black.

Hi Dicky
My build is going slow at the moment, redoing some bonnet vents and playing with the gun at the moment in between digging up dirt looking for yellow stuff while the monsoon is holding off. Put a pic of the gun on my my page.
